He best known for his current portrayal of the rebellious former-chauffeur, Tom Branson, in the internationally successful ITV drama series, 'Downton Abbey'.

The Imitation Game will make its world premiere on Friday night at the Telluride Film Festival in Telluride, Colorado, America. It will screen on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon. A Q&A with director, Morten Tyldum, will follow the Saturday night screening.

The Imitation Game tells the story of cryptographer, Alan Turing, and his work during WWII. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Turing alongside Kiera Knightly and Matthew Goode. Allen plays John Cairncross, a member of Turing’s team at Bletchley Park who was secretly spying for the Soviets.

Allen was nominated by his Downton Abbey co-star Hugh Bonneville for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge which he completed today. You can donate to support ALS research here.

Allen nominated Rob-James Collier, Michelle Dockery and Dan Stevens to follow suit.

Allen will be attending the Toronto International Film Festival this year which runs from the 4th September to the 14th to promote his upcoming film, The Imitation Game.

The film, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Kiera Knightly, will be shown on the 6th and 10th of Spetember. More information can be found here.
